  • I WAS MARRIED IN AZ IN 2006 AND BECAME LEGALLY SEPARATED IN 2011. OUR FINANCES ARE SEPARATE AND WE ARE NOT ON EACH OTHERS CREDIT CARDS, CHECKING ACCOUNTS OR ANY OTHER LEGAL DOCUMENTS. IF HE PASSES AWAY AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR HALF THE DEBT HE INCURRED DURING THE FIRST 5 YEARS OF OUR MARRIAGE EVEN THOUGH HIS DEBT HAS NEVER BEEN IN MY NAME?

  • The Landlord/Property Management Co. has with held $858.33 of our security deposit. They say we are responsible for the Re-Rent and Commissions associated with finding a new tenant. My husband lost his job, we continued to pay rent (even though we were not living in the house) so we didn't break lease. They were able to locate a new renter after two months and returned a portion of our Security Deposit, but say we are responsible for these fees. They would have had these fees in June when our lease was up. Is it legal for them to use our deposit for expense associated with the new tenant?

  • I was served with an injunction against harassment and was never informed by the plantiff that I was harassing her...we were friends. Now I have been given this form and I don't know what to do...she never indicated that she felt threaten by me and showed no changes in her behaviors that would even give the slightest clue as to her feelings...what do I do to protect myself now...
  • I applied at an apartment complex and they told me I needed to pay a holding fee so they can hold the apartment for me. All I did qawas sign the application and told them i would bring tye holding fee another day so they gave me another form stating all of the fees I was to pay at move in. (You sign that AFTER you pay the holding fee). So a couple days later I went in and cancelled my application and now they're sending me to collection for that holding fee. I asked to be shown the policy on that and all they showed me was a paper saying the amount and next to it "non-refundable".
  • The father of my daughter left 3 years ago and never came back has NEVER contacted her or me in any way possible I want to file for sole custody how likely am I to win it? Does it count as abandonment? What else can he be charged with? I don't want him to have any rights over my daughter.

Management says it isn't necessary since they think I keep a clean place. My concern is that after I'm gone, trumped up "repairs" will be noted on my account and they will keep my deposit. They've not been the most ethical and business-like over the past year. What are my rights?
